Bermtastic adventures at Mabie Forest!
Great news, Mabie makeover!
The 7stanes routes at Mabie were launched on Friday 17th October. For those of you who haven't been to Mabie it's a cracking wee forest a few miles south of Dumfries on the A710. It's very popular with locals and there's a strong bond with the community who take a very active role in all the activities in the forest. Mabie has great mountain biking for all levels, attractive forest walks, loads of wildlife, and very importantly, an amazing playpark for the kids - they'll love it!
Awaiting you already lies Mabie's classic natural woodland singletrack, the famous roller coaster, scorpion and the bad step remain but other trail has been significantly upgraded and rerouted. A route of great riding and wonderful scenery,
through mixed woodland, burn splashes and fast descents into bermed and tight trails.
As well as the red route, the trail team is to create new black-graded sections to test the nerve of all riders. It will be a mini Dalbeattie, full of granite outcrops, drop offs and rooty singletrack brilliant! Mabie is riding perfectly now, but be aware that trail work is in progress and please take note of the diversion signs. For a great weekend away come and ride Mabie and Dalbeattie. Only 12 miles apart, they offer a huge day or a more relaxed weekend, you choose. |
